Overview
The Integrated Student Finance System (ISFS) is an enterprise web platform developed for the Ministry of Education (MOE) Singapore under the Government on Commercial Cloud (GCC / GCC+) framework. Built over a multi-year engineering cycle, it manages student financial assistance schemes, income assessments, and subsidy distribution. The architecture leverages microservices with Registry design patterns, Dapr sidecars for distributed service invocation & state management, and hybrid REST & gRPC communication protocols.
Highlights
- Implemented microservice interaction models combining Registry patterns with Dapr sidecars for service discovery and state management
- Utilized hybrid communication models using REST for public APIs and gRPC for high-throughput inter-service RPCs
- Complied with Singapore Government on Commercial Cloud (GCC/GCC+) architecture, adhering to IM8, MTCS SS 584, and CSA security guidelines
- Developed responsive student finance registration, income evaluation, and subsidy calculation modules
